CHRISTMAS TREE HUNT

Today we went to the Johnson tree farm. They had goats, cider, wagons and trees. We spent the morning hanging out with the animals and chatting with Farmer Rob the owner. We then hiked up to a swing on the top of a hill that looked out over the farm. We enjoyed some left over turkey sandwiches and then spotted that special tree. Ocean and I cut it down and off we went back to Mission Springs.
Sam got to come with us this year. She is going to be six years old this December. Her muzzle is going grey due to having a two year old in the house. We will see what she thinks about having another girl in the house come February!

Timber!!!

Tada!!!! I decorated it all by myself! Just call me the Christmas fairy

Thanksgiving

We started out the day grinding cranberry's like Robyn has done all her life. Ocean loves helping with this. Then we went on a nice long hike around Mission Springs to wear O out so she would take a long nap. We cooked during the afternoon and then took our bird over to the Kurtz's house for our feast. The evening was very filling and we had plenty of pumpkin pie.
We woke up that night to the awful sound of Ocean throwing up her Thanksgiving feast and then Robyn the next morning! Thankfully the Kurtz's have not gotten whatever we had since they have a two week old baby. Thank the Lord I have not gotten it! I am the one that usually gets hit with stomach stuff the worst. I am also going to a camping conference this week. Please pray that it does not hit me while I am sharing a hotel room with two other guys.

San Diego Zoo

My sister and her family moved to Coronado island in September. We got to go down for a weekend in early November, My parents got to come out also. It is nice to have family out on this side of the country. We are trying to get the rest to follow but I don't think they are buying into our big idea! We got to go to the zoo while we were there. Ocean and her cousins had a great time seeing all the animals. We recommend going to see the orangutans. Next time I would just sit in front of them for the entire day.

Harvest Fest

We spent the day up at Wilder Ranch for there annual harvest fest. They have a original home stead in side the state park. We feasted on hand churned pumpkin ice cream and played with the animals. Ocean enjoyed dancing to the blue grass bands.

They had all kinds of old time toys to play with. Ocean really liked the stilts!

Ocean got to grind corn to feed the cows and chickens. She was not quite strong enough to turn the crank so she got a little help.

The Harvest Festival was complete with the a hay ride around the ranch

Happy Anniversary Tahoe Style

In October, we celebrated our five year anniversary... where does the time go. This also means we have been on the west coast for five years as well. Neither of us would have thought we would have been here that long and yet here we still are and loving it. (shhh, don't tell our families we said that) Anyway, we were blessed with a sweet place in Tahoe and an amazing friend who watched O for us as we went away for two nights. The weather was beautiful and the leaves were amazing. As we drove around the lake we actually ran through a small snow flurry - Josh was extremely excited about this part. This was the first time we had really left O for this long and she did great. Of course she wore our friend out... hey, she wears me out everyday. It was nice to be able to get up and go whenever we wanted and to sit and watch movies whenever we wanted as well too. My favorite part was going to the grocery store and getting random foods and not have to worry about a 2 year old needing to eat... not having to think about breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We should definitely do this more...

Happy Birthday to me...

Back in September, we celebrated my 32nd birthday. I still can't believe I am in my thirties...I guess it had to happen sometime. Josh got me a "Buttery Bakery" cake which is my favorite. What more could a pregnant gal want?
